This mod adds a bar at the top of the screen while picking a lock which shows you the 'sweet spot' of the lock. It also shows the health of the current lockpick. ## Installation ## 1. Place 'lockpickingmenu.swf' and 'lockpickingmenusettings.txt' in Skyrim installation folder/Data/Interface 2.

Lockpick Pro Mod is a mod made for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that adds a bar at the top of the screen while picking a lock which shows the Dragonborn the 'sweet spot' of the lock. It also shows the health of the current lockpick.
InstallationEdit
- Download and extract the archive
- Copy lockpickingmenu.swf and lockpickingmenu_settings.txt into the Skyrim installation folder/Data/Interface
ConfigurationEdit
You can edit the lockpickingmenu_settings.txt to remove one or both of the Lockpick Pro features. In the file, you'll see the next lines:
- &showSweetSpotBar=1&
- &showLockpickHealth=1&
Change '1&' to '0&' to remove that feature. This is desirable to users who only want to see the health of their lockpick.
I have played Skyrim for some time as a magic user, and I have by no means visited the entire world yet.
But I'm puzzled that none of the characters I have met that sell spells have any spell to unlock locks.
Is there no such spell, or have I just not found it yet?

As Mr. Smooth stated, there are no spells available to unlock chests or doors.
The Tower Stone effect does allow you to unlock one Expert level (or lower) lock per day.
Doozer BlakeDoozer BlakeThere's no spell that I know of, but you should know that if you have a follower, they can pick any lock on a chest, regardless of difficulty. Just talk to them and tell them you need them to do something, and then direct them to unlock the chest. Here's a reference.
There is no spell in Skyrim that will unlock doors or chests for you (sadly).
I'm afraid if you want to unlock things then you're going to have to level your lockpicking (or have a lot of lockpicks).

The mod, Ancient Spells - Morrowind and Oblivion Spells, adds an 'Open Easy/Average/Hard/Very Hard locks on target' spell under Alteration. Upon installation, you can buy these spells (given you have the skill required for them) from the usual merchants that sell spells.
The majority of the spells are on leveled spells merchants (this means that if a illusion spell needs a perk point on for example Master Illusion you will not see it untill you have that perk like the other spells on the game), beginner spells can be found regardless on Riverwood and Whiterun.
galacticninjagalacticninjaThere is a skills stone between downstar and winterhold that lets you automatically open locks up to master but not including it. it's on the top of a iceberg randomly I came across it while going over the map cross country. You can then upgrade you lock picking which increases this ability to include master as well.
