Water Moisture Eyebrow In E60 Headlights
Replace turn signal bulbs. The headlight assembly seals can wear out over time resulting in water leaks and repeat bulb failures. On models with high intensity discharge (HID) lights, the HID module is located at the bottom of the headlight. Water can enter the module electrical connector causing headlight faults. With the bulbs out and the vent tubes removed you have a good setup for water vapor to escape during baking. Now place your headlight assembly into a preheated oven at somewhere between 120 and 180 degrees. This is warm enough that the housing will get hot and evaporate the moisture without making the lens sealer too soft. Results were great but I guess I must have really gone at it with the sand paper. Now, I get a small condensation spot in the 'eyebrow' area after every heavy.
