  • Be mindful that commands can potentially be game-breaking! Proceed with caution and make sure to back up your saved games.
  • All commands are case sensitive.
  • Some commands allow you to type in a random number to alter the value of its effect. We've noted the commands that do so in the following the slides.
  • To use a recently entered command, press the up key on the console screen and it will bring up the last command you entered.

God Mode

: tgm

: God Mode grants your character the god-like abilities of unlimited ammo, unlimited Action Points, and invincibility. For the sake of your survival, this is an essential command to enter before trying out others.

Super Jump

: setgs fJumpHeighMin <Insert random numerical value>

: This command gives your character superhuman level jumping abilities. Keep in mind that you're going to want to activate this command in conjunction with God Mode, seeing as not having it on will likely result in an instant death from fall damage. A good value to start with this cheat is 500.

Super Running Speed

: player.setav speedmult <Insert random numerical value>

: Have you ever wondered what it would be like being the Flash in the wastelands of Fallout 4? Look no further, this command grants your character super speed. To be on the safe side, we suggest starting out with 1000 for this command.

Increase Your Level

: player.set level <Insert random level>

: If you're tired of leveling up the normal way, you can enter in this command to increase your character level to whatever you want. Keep in mind, this command won't work if you enter a level lower than your current one.

Spawn Enemies

: placeatme <Insert unique hexadecimal ID>

*In addition you can follow with <Insert number you want spawned>

: This command lets you spawn specific enemies onto the field. Unlike other commands in this gallery, this one requires you to also enter the unique hexadecimal ID of what you want to spawn in. For example, if you want to spawn a Deathclaw, you need to type 'placeatme FF0015A9.' Unfortunately, we do not have a list of every hexadecimal ID value in the game, but you can find them online on the Fallout 4 wikis.

Spawn Items

: player.additem<Insert unique hexadecimal ID>

*In addition you can follow with <Insert number you want spawned>

: You can use this command to spawn specific items into you inventory. Like the spawn enemies command, this one also requires you to know unique hexadecimal IDs. Luckily, you can find a full list of every item ID in the game in this list compiled by the community.

Increase/Decrease in Size

: setscale <Insert value 1-10>

: This command increases or decreases the size of your character or desired target by the indicated number. To properly activate it, simply highlight your intended target while in the console command menu and then enter the command.

Turn Off Collision Detection

: tcl

: This command turns off all collision detection in the game, letting you walk through walls and objects in the game as much as you please.

Travel to a Specific Location

Fallout 4 Console Commands Items

: coc <Insert location ID>

: If you ever find yourself glitched out somewhere you can't escape while using these different commands, you can enter this command to travel to a specific location. However, like the previous command that spawns items or enemies, this one requires a specific ID. You can also find these online, but here's a couple to get you by:

  • Sanctuary: coc sanctuaryex05
  • Red Rocket Gas Station: coc redrocketext

The Secret Room

: coc qasmoke

: This command takes you to a secret room that houses every item and power armor. Additionally, you can find every workbench in this room. It's important to note that you cannot fast travel out of this room once you enter it.

Turn Off Combat AI

: tcai

: If you're about to die in battle, you can use this command to turn off the enemy's combat AI. Simply type it in to make all enemies drop what they're doing and stop fighting you.

Murder Everything Around You

: killall

Fallout 4 Fast Travel Console Command

: If you want to kill everything in the surrounding area, type in this command to do just that. However, it's worth noting this command will not kill companions or important characters, instead putting them in a standard critical state.

Change Your Sex

: player.sexchange

: You can use this command to change your character's sex on the fly. Now you no longer need to start the game over again if you want to pick the opposite sex!

In Fallout 4 tilde key (~) become a source of almighty power. By activating the in-game console, PC players of Fallout 4 can initiate a whole slew of cheat commands to alter their game experience, for better or worse. In this guide, we’ve compiled a list of current console commands and their subsequent functions.

To activate Fallout 4’s in-game console, simply press the tilde key on the keyboard, just beside the “1” key in the top left corner. Certain keyboards may require the apostrophe key instead, if the tilde doesn’t work. Tapping the tilde brings up a dark grey console on the lower half of the game screen that can be used to input various commands. These console commands can be used to manipulate the game in all sorts of ways. Players can instantly kill or resurrect enemies, add quantities of items to their inventory, and even enable god mode.

Some of these commands can be potentially game-breaking. So as a safety measure, make sure to create a save file and create often. So you can go back when something awful happens.

List of Fallout 4 PC Console Commands

Each entry below indicates the command to be entered into the console, and the effect of that command. Note: you do not need to type the brackets when entering these into the console.

tgm – God mode, for complete invulnerability.

tcl – No collision with objects. Walk through walls, or pretty much anywhere else.

tai – Turns off AI. Causes all characters to become immobile, with blank expressions.

tcai – Turns off combat AI. Finally, world peace!

killall – Kills off everyone in the surrounding area, except for Companions and other important characters, who will instead flop to the ground in need of a stimpak.

kill [insert ID] – Kills the creature of the ID indicated.

resurrect [insert ID] – resurrects the creature indicated.

setgs fJumpHeightMin [insert number] – Allows players to modify their jump height based on the inserted number. Higher numbers result in higher jumps. However, the fall damage from high jumps will still kill you, so be sure to enable god mode first.

player.setav speedmult [insert number] – A multiplier is added to your running speed, based on the inserted number.

This massive Dogmeat is the closest thing we’ll get to having our very own Clifford in Fallout 4.

setscale [insert number from 1 to 10] – Increases the size of your target, or yourself, based on the indicated number. This command makes things seriously massive, as you can see in our screenshot above.

tfc – Activates the flycam, which is perfect for aerial screenshots.

tm – Toggles the UI and HUD off and on. However, this command will also prevent you from seeing the command console. Press the tilde and type ‘tm’ again blindly to retrieve the UI. Use this in conjunction with the previous command for display-free screenshots.

sexchange – Gives your character a sex change, obviously. However, once you revert back, your character seems to revert to the default character as well, meaning you potentially lose your face and hair customizations. Make a backup save before trying this command just in case.

player.additem [insert item ID] [insert number] – This is the command formula to add items to your inventory based on the quantity indicated by the inserted number. This will work for any item, as long as you know the item ID. Here are two examples:

  • player.additem 0000000f 2500 – Adds 2500 Bottlecaps into your inventory (change the desired quantity).
  • player.additem 0000000a 2500 – Adds 2500 Bobby Pins to the player’s inventory (again, change the quantity).

coc qasmoke – Teleports the player to a hazy, dreamlike room with a series of boxes that contain all items in the game. There’s also a lineup of Power Armor and various workbenches throughout. You can’t fast travel out of this weird world, but you can at least use it as a chance to figure out item ID’s for commands. To figure out an item’s ID, open the console and click on the item with your mouse. This command can be useful in conjunction with the previous command.

set timescale to [insert number] – Can speed up or slow down time. The game defaults to 16, with real-time being 1. Negative numbers likely slow down time.

tdetect – Causes AI to no longer detect you. A pickpocket’s dream!

player.modav [skill] [number] – Increase a particular skill by the indicated number amount. For example, “player.modav charisma 10” would increase your charisma by 10 skill points.

player.setlevel [insert number] – Bump up your character’s level to the number indicated.

caqs – This will complete all steps of the primary quest, completing the main story instantly.Caution: this will essentially spoil the entire game. Use this command at your own risk, or perhaps on a new character once you’ve completed the game yourself.

These are the main console commands that players have found so far, and there will likely be more added to this list as they are uncovered in the coming weeks. Remember to use these commands carefully, and make a backup of your game save file before using any of these, just in case.
