Dec 31, 2015 Internet Explorer stops working Windows 10 - posted in Windows 10 Support: I am helping a friend that has a 64 bit version of Windows 10. He likes Internet Explorer better than Edge.

When you try to open Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) in Windows 10, browser opens and closes immediately, but ‘View and track your downloads’ popup appears and stays, if you close it and relaunch IE, you’ll get the same result. Let us see how to fix this.

Windows 10: Fix Internet Explorer 11 opens and closes, doesn’t stay
1. Open Run command, type inetcpl.cpl and press enter to open IE properties window Codecs media player windows 8.
2. Click on ‘Advanced’ tab, click on ‘Reset’ button at the bottom to Reset Internet Explorer Settings
3. Restart your computer once done. Try to open IE11, it will open without any issues without showing ‘view downloads’ dialog and browser remains open unless you close it.
